Unit 4- Fighting against bullying and discrimination

Aim of the unitis to familiarize all participants with the typology and extent of bullying and discrimination within school environment,

equip them with the necessary skills to adopt a pedagogical approach that cultivates a prosocial classroom climate and thus deters phenomena of bullying and discrimination. It will also train them to recognize such situations and handle them in an efficient manner, engaging the whole school community, i.e. colleagues, class mates, parents, etc. Then present to the participants “best practices”, share opinions, argument to which extent these examples are applicable to their learning contexts 

CONTENT

 

  • Identification of bullying and discrimination

  • How these phenomena are  expressed in school environment depending on certain conditions (individual, peer, family, school and community factors)

  • How to identify, prevent and tackle phenomena of bullying and discrimination

  •  Dos and Don’ts for and an effective management, de-escalation of students’ behavior, the role of educators, bystanders, parents- adults etc.

  •  Identification of “good practices”; sharing of experiences and opinions
